Timeline for Exploding Rabbit's Super Retro Squad (Super Retro Crossover)

Timeline for Exploding Rabbit's Super Retro Squad
Created from Kickstarter Milestones and Kickstarter Backer Updates

Sometimes it is easier to see visually. Exploding Rabbit and Jay Pavlina are significantly behind on delivering the rewards promised to backers of Super Retro Squad (now called Super Action Squad).  On the Kickstarter Blog they discussed accountability on Kickstarter.

Here is what Kickstarter has to say

It is now November and there have been no updates from Exploding Rabbit or Jay Pavlina since early September. It looks like Exploding Rabbit and Jay Pavlina are not able to deliver the rewards promised.

Looks like Kickstarter says Exploding Rabbit / Jay Pavlina are legally required to deliver the rewards or refund the backers money. Because Exploding Rabbit is not accountable and likely will not even be able to deliver the rewards it is about time for backers to request refunds. Jay Pavlina is LEGALLY required to refund your money.

Demand a refund for this vaporware or accountability from Exploding Rabbit and Jay Pavlina. It is your legal right.

  3. The timeline is a bit small. Is there a way to enlarge it so its easier to read?

  4. Why two timelines? You already did one a while ago.

  5. I like the concept of the timeline so people can actually see the dates when stuff was supposed to happen and how long its been since they were supposed to happen. I really hope people see what a douche this guy is and pull out (like I did last night with his mom ZING!). The nerve of asking for loads more money months after he was supposed to be done all is shocking. It is the worst project ever!

However timelines kinda small like people said. You need to make it bigger and downloadable so people can see it without a magnifier and can download it to post other places.

    Peace out

  7. How do you request a refund? I have never seen the option on kickstarter

  8. I literally don't think jay has worked a single day in his life. He went to school for film which is a bs major that will never turn into any kind of job. BS majors only get chosen when someone's parents are paying for college because otherwise if they paid for their own they would pick a major that would actually turn into a good paying job.

It then seems like he either moved back home after he graduated or his parents paid for his apartment because it doesn't look like he worked at all after college and had ever so much time to fart around and make games and shit.

Why this rant? Maybe I am jealous of entitled pricks like him, but again maybe not. I have worked since I was 14 and am now working 3, yes 3 jobs to pay for my own college. See thats called hard work and dedication.

Then again he is just an unemployed looser who my guess is got a bunch of suckers on kickstarter to support him now that his parents have stopped!

WTF! At least this rant made me feel a bit better but now I have to go work at my 2nd job!

    1. Haha you know, your probably right! Ok so I am changing the name from super-ass-to-mouth squad to super unemployment squad because its his unemployment check!

  9. oh by the way you should check out the explodingrabbit forums because there was a thread where the fanboys tried to report this blog and shut it down. But guess what, they can suck it deep and long because the blog is still here and is now on page 1 of google when you search explodingrabbit. Nice work bro

    1. Was there a thread about it? I don't remember that, it was just the subject going on in Current Thoughts at some point. They've calmed down, even Jay himself knows about this place and is okay with it, etc. The subject is brought back up every now and again, but people are fairly relaxed now.
They released an update just yesterday (from my POV as a European), and here's an excerpt from it: "We’ve done nothing but work on the game for the last two months, and it’s been going very well."
Also the guy making this blog did kind of check out the forums, he blogged about Jay saying on the forums not having any plans to distribute the source code as of yet. That happened two years before this blog was even made though, so it's not entirely valid.

  11. Maybe this blog was the kick in the pants Jay needed because he finally posted an update and it appears at least a little progress has been made.

    1. What a bunch or rubbish. Any other game I have seen on Kickstarter usually has a working demo video of the game and substantial amount of artwork and music already completed. This is how they show people the project is real and will be completed.

Yes, the recent backer update has "some" tangible progress but the sad fact is EVERY OTHER GAME usually has more done than this before it even goes on Kickstarter. This team had absolutely nothing at the start and now has a little tiny something OVER A YEAR LATER.

Backers really have egg on their face with this project, unless you gave your money for the privilege to sit around while NOTHING HAPPENS. I for one made a mistake but have learned from it so won't make it twice.

    2. Oh and no there isn't an option on kickstarter to request a refund, if there was I would have a LONG time ago when I noticed this project is empty.

    3. hahaha they did have a rough draft mock-up of the title screen and characters. So lets be fair, thy did have about 25 mins worth of work done instead of absolutely none ;)

    4. I can't read the update on kickstarter its for backer only.....

    5. You can send them an e-mail here to get a refund:

    6. no email there buddy.........

    7. I sent them something once, and I got an email back from contact@explodingrabbit.com, but the link I gave links to a form where you send an e-mail.

    8. What a crock of shit, the guy above clearly works for them.

I sent an "email" using that link he gave and asked for a refund and its been over a week with no response whatsoever. I also tried to reply to the email from the last backer update and use the kickstarter contact feature and still no reply at all from any type. Right now I am sending my emails to kickstarter as fraud.

I know people are going to say "oh don't worry about it its not like you lost a bunch of money" but who the hell cares. This is the most unprofessional bullshit and I hope kickstarter can help me get my refund!

  15. I'm no super genius but I'm starting to think that the kickstarter money was just for the amount of time Jay had envisioned it would take to finish the game (plus other explanations given on the site/otherwise and minus the actual reality of unexpected circumstances, hindsight or no hindsight). The rewards were just there as his way of showing gratitude and consideration to backers.

Of course, it definitely didn't pan out as planned since some backers are obviously feeling upset. To be fair, him and his team are just startups and they've got some ways before they can actually call themselves a game company. I don't like pointing fingers but I see different points on all sides making sense, when they're logical enough.

The question then becomes: Why not wait and see how it turns out? (seriously, no need to fight, people..sure, there will be opinions, but let's also wait/watch and learn and see from there). After all, let's say they do finish the games, what's stopping them from still giving you the rewards? The way I see it, those rewards are still on the menu. Like I mentioned earlier, it sounds to me the money was solely for payments he thought of only in advance (while not fully taking into consideration circumstantials in the remote future).

Now that time has passed, we can only trust that the team finishes the game. That's what true backers do. The rest will come.

    1. you know the begining amount asked for was 10k on ks right? He got about 50k instead and then later wants 235k MORE!! I type that again as 235k more donations!

He should have used the 40k EXTRA he got to make the game faster then oh you know SELL it to make more moneys.

ppl can do as is there please but I think the team needs to be delivering something ASAP.

    2. Yeah you should def give a start up a benefit of the doubt but this here is getting ridiculous. It really doesn't seem like anything other then some concepts and such have been done at all. Right? What do you think?

    3. Looks like I'm not the only one commenting here that's more on ER's side than on ERS' side. XD
I like to think I'm neutral, but ultimately I can't avoid siding with Jay.

    4. Also this is probably irrelevant, but does composing music fall under the category of concepts?

trust me, I feel your frustrations; I'm just a bit more patient lol *sigh* (I'm a gamer and I have my moments of temporary I-want-to-play-the-game-already impatience)

but I'm also more level-headed and look far ahead into the unknown possibilities (and thankfully so); I can wait, and I will enjoy the game when it comes out =D

I don't disagree with you either; I have a "watcher"/observer neutral-optimist personality though and I can also see why they're not done. Just to re-iterate that, I went back to their site and re-read the huge FAQs link in full, and frankly, it seems Jay and the team are doing what they can.

Yes, I do understand why you don't agree as well.

For my case, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, as one commenter so promptly said many days back (and to that commenter, yes, it is getting ridiculous too, but I believe strongly in the project..time will tell).

  18. Hey author, do you think you could make a kind of ticker or something here so that we can see what was the last comment posted on this blog or something? I just the other day got round to something in an older blog that needed replying to, and I don't want it to be overlooked for being on an old entry. Does Blogger have that functionality?

  24. sounds like several butthurt people who have no clue about game development. he said in his video he underestimated the development process. having never developed a game on this scale with a team is a huge undertaking. seeing as most replies on this page seem to come with the mentality of children who fail to understand how life works. you can see from the video they aee working hard on the game, redesigning the game to work. they even plan to release parts to getbit out faster. this blogger failed to read the sections on how Jay admitted he had underestimated the scale of the project. people have no patience anymore. Time for this blogger and many commenters to goe up and set foot in the real world.

  25. I backed Star Citizen and have yet to see that.. and all I see spammed into my email are new ships! omgwtf! However, I did get a swanky credit card thing in the mail.. so.. yay?
(the above may or may not be sarcasm)

Meh, whatever. I'm patient and can wait. However, I will fully admit Jay isn't really doing all that well in the pr department.

  27. I find it interesting that everyone here is anon. You little over-entitled pussies make me sick. You would have pissed away your money on smokes, booze, or fast food. Everyone here wanted the game. Taking back money and smearing exploding rabbit won't make it happen. Yeah, it's taking for ever. Yeah, so what?

But who cares what we think, what do you think about the Exploding Rabbit scam? You can post anonymously if you want.
